What is PBL?

Project Based Learning (or PBL) is a method of learning that involves pupils working together on projects to solve real life problems.  In order to do this, they use critical thinking, collaboration and communication in a way that is very different to the methods used in more 'traditional' schooling methods.

After sharing the problem or area of learning with the children, they will share what they already know and what they want to know.  This will then help them to come up with the question which will drive the project.  The children will work in teams, making decisions and taking different roles to make sure that their project answers the question and they are able to produce a high quality outcome.  The aim is always to make sure that the learning is real and purposeful - we also like for our projects to have genuine community impact.
