In 2019 we took a different approach to our 'middle leadership' roles across the school. We moved away from a traditional structure that would include subject leaders or coordinators as that way of working seemed to be holding back our progress. Instead, we moved towards a more 'agile' system of leadership where team leaders develop teams and worked quickly and flexibly to create impact (by making a change or implementing a new way of working) over the course of a half term.
The focuses for each team were decided on by the needs of the school and anyone could suggest a focus they would like to work on. The rest of the staff could decide which team they would like to join. Some people joined more than one!
